Heartwarming moment with Slashdot
As some of you may recall, I raised a ruckus a few weeks ago because one of my articles was Slashdotted, and about half the comments on it were about my looks. Today, my article about RFID hacking in Wired was Slashdotted, and not ONE SINGLE COMMENT is about me or my looks! They’re all just discussions of the technical issues raised by the article, and the many grumpy potshots are aimed at my ideas rather than my rack. W00t! The cockles of my heart are duly warmed.

You sure learned ‘em good!

I hope so . . . more likely, /. readers just didn’t notice the article was by me. And as far as I’m concerned, that just freakin’ fine.

Well… Is it all right if we think you’re a hottie and a hot writer?
Seriously, I appreciate the problem. One of the nice things about New York is that there are actually comic-book stores here that I can take my girlfriend into. One would hope that if geeks can’t grow up other ways, they could at least grow past 12th grade with regard to sex.

I don’t mind if you think I’m hot, and I don’t mind if you have the mentality of a 14-year-old — just keep those kinds of thoughts off the comment boards on tech sites, where it’s not relevant.

Nahhhh, you let ‘em off too easy! I’d make those script kiddies grovel for a couple more weeks before you forgave ‘em!
